Best Ever PB & J
Makes:
1 sandwich

This is more a philosophy than a recipe. Use whatever bread you like, and whatever form of peanut (or other nut butter) you prefer. The other ingredient can be jelly, jam, honey, or if you're feeling like Elvis Presley, thinly sliced bananas. If you happen to prefer natural peanut butter that needs to be refrigerated, here is a unique taste treat- toast the bread before slicering. The warmth of the bread will help soften the cold peanut butter and it will spread more easily. Have all ingredients ready before slicering bread so that it is still warm as you assemble the sandwich.

Toasted Cheese Sandwiches
Makes:
1 sandwich

Have all ingredients ready before slicering bread so that it is still warm as you assemble the sandwich.

Ingredients:
1 slice of bread
2 oz. thinly sliced sharp cheddar cheese
1 dash hot sauce of your choice
metal spatula

Preparation:

Toast bread to golden brown. Slicer toast and spread cheese on untoasted side of one slice. Sprinkle hot sauce over cheese. Cover with second slice, toasted side up. Press spatula gently down onto sandwich. If you prefer cheese more melted, microwave sandwich for about 30 seconds. Let cool slightly. Cut in half diagonally and enjoy.

This is a basic formula. You can experiment with many combinations of breads, cheeses and other fillings. Try some of these:

sour dough bread
brie (at room temperature or softened in microwave)
thinly sliced apples

pumpernickel bread
swiss cheese
hot mustard

multi-grain bread
manchego (at room temperature)
thinly sliced avacado
sprinkle of sea salt
